Mission – Shortlisted for the Cannes Lions!

June 22, 2010, by jameslacey

It is with great pride that we can announce that Mission has been nominated in this year’s Cannes Lions for our work on Nokia‘s World’s Largest Sign Post.

The ambition was to make people, quite physically, stop in their tracks and think about navigation. As a commodity and tool in your phone, in your pocket.

Nokia’s sign post was, in actual fact, an absolute enormous building crane on London’s southbank, next to Tower Bridge with a large LED arrow suspended beneath it. Absolutely anyone could then submit a location in the UK that they deemed their favourite place through their phone. The sign post would subsequently turn to point in that direction and the the distance and description would appear lit up on the arrow itself.

Simple, right? Right.

Our entry nomination for the Cannes Lions can be seen by clicking anywhere you like on this sentence.

The Final 3 Nokia X6 All Areas Entertainment Reporters

June 16, 2010, by jameslacey

Hundreds applied for the chance to be a Nokia X6 All Access Entertainment Reporter back in February. Six lucky people were then chosen to fly all over the world to report from celebrity events such as Cannes Festival, The Oscars and The Spanish Grand Prix.

After all that travelling and fun, the six reporters have now been whittled down to three, and one of the three finalists will get a chance to live out their dream and become the Nokia X6 All Access Entertainment Reporter for a year! To win the chance of a lifetime, the three finalists have to seed their final assignment videos onto various websites in order to gain as many views as possible. The person who gets the most video views and their videos placed on as many websites as possible wins.

So without further or do check out the videos from the three finalist:

Natalia Jorquera

“Being in the X6 Final 6 has been the most exciting adventure, travelling to so many places and getting to report on events like the Oscars feels like a prize itself!

Why I think I deserve to win? I’m highly motivated, creative and will rise to the challenge given any circumstance; whether it is reporting about the F1 for the first time or staying up till the small hours of the morning to make sure I get the best red carpet interview!

I am confident that I have all the necessary skills needed to be the most successful Nokia X6 Reporter, from writing to editing to presenting, so I hope I’ve done enough to impress the judges! Fingers crossed!”
Kate Willacy

“I have loved the competition. Personal highlights are interviewing Fatboy Slim in an igloo and Kristin Davis in LA.

I would love to win. I have come this far and I don’t want the experience to end. I would bring loyalty, commitment and enthusiasm to the job!

I have loved all of the assignments and I am ready for the new challenges the job would entail.

Please pick me to be your Nokia X6 reporter!!

Kate Willacy x x x “

Kristy Harper

If you have a favourite reporter that you’d like to win, send the link of your favourite video to all your mates and if you have a blog, post the video on there – remember the winner will be chosen with a combination of how many views their video gets and how many websites there video is placed on.
