To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Queen’s Coronation, Mission asked Friends Reunited users to share their personal images and memories of street parties that took place back in 1953.
The collection presented a snapshot of Britain 60 years ago showcasing the community spirit in neighbourhoods up and down the country. From Dorset to Middlesbrough, the streets were lined with regal-coloured bunting and children in fancy dress can be seen enjoying all the treats on offer.
The request went further than expected, and images were featured in the national press, including The Mail Online, The Independent Online, The Times Online and The Express Online

Last Thursday (30.05.13), soul sensation Lianne La Havas headlined an intimate acoustic gig at Rampworx indoor skate park in Aintree, Liverpool for the third leg of the Lumia Live Sessions. The Mercury nominated artist performed to an intimate crowd of 200 guests in one of the parks skate bowls.
The Lumia Live Sessions is a tour curated by Mission that sees Nokia and music pioneers La Blogotheque, team up to showcase hot new talent at a series of free gigs in unusual settings across the UK. La Blogotheque are made up of a team of bloggers and videographers who have worked with the likes of ALT J, Bon Iver, Arcade Fire and many other international artists to kick-start the careers of musicians globally – Mission are ecstastic to promote their partnership with Nokia. Mission recently hosted The Campaign for Wool’s Wool School, a competition that gave textile students an opportunity to design limited edition wool jumpers to be sold at top UK retailers.
The Wool School initiative, which started last year, saw fashion, textiles and design students across the country competing to design a wool sweater that will be available in stores nationwide this Autumn to celebrate Wool Week 2013. (more…)
