This evening Mission Public Relations will launch The Twitter Diaries by Georgia Thompson & Imogen Lloyd Webber, published by Bloomsbury. Starting next week, parts of this story will be unfolding live on Twitter so please be sure to check the website for more information as it arrives.
Mission Public Relations helped put together Barclaycard and Hollywood hero, David Hasselhoff to celebrate the first ever payment by a customer using a Barclaycard PayTag by taking part in a surprise extravaganza involving Shaolin Monks, Can-Can dancers, cheerleaders and a brass band.
As the customer made the payment using a PayTag on their mobile telephone, the former Knight Rider and Baywatch star appeared to surprise dozens of stunned shoppers.
A town crier announced the moment as Shaolin Monks swung into action with an acrobatic display. They were quickly joined by eight high kicking Can-Can dancers who emerged alongside half a dozen cheerleaders dancing to a six-piece brass band, which was all caught on camera.
In a blizzard of glitter the celebration, at The Co-operative Food store in Enfield, north London, saw “The Hoff” congratulate the first Barclaycard PayTag user as shoppers looked on in amazement.
The death of Vidal Sassoon, who was such an inspirational figure, has saddened everyone at Mission.
His groundbreaking work in the field of hairdressing, since he opened his first salon in 1954, is legendary. Mr Sassoon is described as a craftsman who changed with world with a pair of scissors. His styles became synonymous with freedom and good health, leaving behind an impression that has inspired many in the industry.
DINE LAUGHING WITH THE NEW SHEEKEY’S SPEAKEASIES
J Sheekey Oyster Bar is proud to announce its new season of performances for Sheekey’s Speakeasies. In 2011 the first Speakeasy season introduced monthly cabaret performances to J Sheekey Oyster Bar, combining dinner with live music and comedy performance, creating an unforgettable evening of entertainment.
Due to overwhelming demand for tickets, from May 2012 there are four Speakeasy shows each month. Every other Sunday sees two shows: a late lunch performance at 2pm and an evening show at 7pm. Tickets cost £35 and include a set menu of J Sheekey favourites and a Ketel One cocktail on arrival.
The cabaret performances are punctuated by a seasonal menu which includes dishes such as West Mersea pearl oysters, razor clams with chorizo & Padrón peppers, shrimp & scallop burgers and sautéed octopus with datterini capers & lemon dressing.
As in the Speakeasy Bars of prohibition America, a cocktail is served on the house to circumvent the law. For brunch shows, this is a Ketel One Bloody Mary, the dinner performances feature a monthly- changing cocktail.
Hardeep Singh Kohli, Scottish comedian, writer, and broadcaster, curates the season, hand-picking the most exciting contemporary acts. The new season kicks off with a bang on 6 May with Rachel Parris, fresh from success at the Musical Comedy awards and who has recently been selected by ‘London is Funny’ as one of the Top 10 Comics to Watch in 2012. Future acts include a one woman show by Peepshow’s Isy Sutie on 15 July and The Fitzrovia Radio Hour on 7 October.
“Anyone attending the Sheekey’s Speakeasies should expect the unexpected. The atmosphere is relaxed and playful… perfect for a Sunday. We plan to offer unusual entertainment of the highest order. That, and braised octopus.” – Hardeep Singh Kohli
